Multi-Agent Systems, built from their constituents, agents, are suited for multi-stakeholder environments. Unlike traditional systems whose constituents are all typically built by the same developer and designed to work in harmony, each agent may be built and owned by a different stakeholder whose interest may not necessarily be aligned with the others. Despite their heterogeneity and self-interest, agents find ways to cooperate and work with other agents, much like humans.
